My goodness, I’m tired. I don’t know how I’ve managed to get any reading done this week, given that I’ve been traveling the whole time, but I keep managing to sneak it in here and there, and I’m hoping to get a solid amount done both tonight (Tuesday) and tomorrow.

recently finished

I finished Belladonna the literal night before I left for Scotland, and though I’d intended to have another book finished by then, the time got away from me, and that just didn’t happen. I was also hoping that I’d have finished my current read by now, and though I think I’ll finish it on the train ride, I’m not certain, so this is all we’ve got here.

I’m not going to get into the details of my Scotland trip because the first blog is going live at the same time as this one, so if you’re interested in what I’ve been doing this week, other than slowly plugging my way through Base Notes, go check that out! And that’s not to say that Base Notes isn’t lovely–though I definitely thought it was going to be different, given the kind of novel that Amberlough was, though I guess this does have a lot of the same excellent writing style–just that I’ve really got to focus on it when I’m reading it, and I haven’t had a ton of time for that. I’ve mostly snatched pieces of time when I can, which!

I really cannot even begin to explain how grateful I am for the way my life has been going the last few days.

what’s next

I’m hopeful that I’m going to finish Base Notes while I’m on the train on Wednesday. I have a three hour ride from Inverness over to the Isle of Skye, and while I do need to get some actual work done, I’m also hopeful to just read for a bit. And I’ve got Thursday off! I only have one tour day booked while I’m on Skye because I’m coming off of four straight days of tours, and I knew I was going to need a break, so I’d like to start and finish Certain Dark Things, and hopefully also start Legendborn. I think the second will be a good travel home book for me, and given I’ve got two flights that’ll amount to seven hours, I’m going to need some entertainment.
