The what are you reading Wednesday posts are hosted by Taking on a World of Words! Gonna be real, this past week was rough. I made it to Portugal! I’m writing this on my last night in Lisbon, so by the time you read this tomorrow, I will be en route to Porto, and I am very excited. My Lisboa post goes live on Thursday, so keep your eyes peeled for everything that happened in my first four days abroad.

what did you recently finish?
I was a total champion, and I finished Lakelore on Thursday night so I wouldn’t be rushing to read it Friday before my flight, and I am very proud of myself. However, because I’m trying to pack for two weeks with very minimal space (translation: only one giant backpack), I was only able to take three books with me instead of four, and because I’m an asshole, I forgot my headphones, so you remember that plan to listen to a bunch of audiobooks while I was on planes and trains? Lollllllllll.
what are you currently reading?
I started Circe earlier this week while I was eating homemade raviolis on a little side street in Lisboa. It was honestly delightful. I’m only about a hundred pages into it given that I’ve only been reading sometimes while I’m eating alone. Most of the time, I’m just catching up on Instagram or checking in with my parents while I’m eating, or I’m busy staring around at the beautiful cities that I’m in, so I’ve only read over raviolis and truly the most decadent mushroom risotto while in a restaurant that has ties to Fernando Pessoa, one of Portugal’s most beloved poets. I mean, what a vibe, I just cannot with how much I am living out my dreams over here. I don’t want to spoil too much, though, because I talk about all of this in tomorrow’s post!

what do you think you’ll read next?
It is slim picking over here, folks. I honestly don’t know what I’m going to read today while I’m on the train. I intended to listen to a solid three hours of Mansfield Park, and now I’m just going to stare out the window? I can’t even listen to music! I get bad motion sickness if I try to read in cars, but I’m not sure if the same will happen in a train, so I’m going to give reading Circe a go, but we’ll see what happens. I’m behind on my Goodreads goal, but I’m honestly not that concerned. I’m having the time of my life in Portugal, and there is plenty of time to catch up on reading when I’m back in the States. Thus, my up next is just going to be Circe. I’d like to finish it by the end of the week, given that it’s just under 400 pages, and I should be able to manage that, but if I don’t, I’m not mad about it!
