ICYMI, I’ve hopped on the what are you reading WWW Wednesday posts, which are hosted by Taking on a World of Words, and my normal Wednesday posts, usually discussions, are moving to Thursdays. As you can see from the title, this was a pretty wretched weekend, and I am really looking forward to a much better week ahead.

what did you recently finish reading?

Well, I finished Mister Impossible, and keep your socks on because it was a doozy. My review for it will go up on Friday with the wrap-up, and I don’t super want to talk about it more than I already have, so we’ll just say that I hated it and move on.

I also read Letters from Father Christmas and Roverandom, and both were spectacular. They definitely saved me from sliding into an unfortunate slump, and, as always, I am eternally grateful to Tolkien. I didn’t end up reading A Marvellous Light, though, and I’ve put it back on my shelf, so I think we can call that a wash for now.

what are you currently reading?

I’m in between books as I’m drafting this, but by the time this goes live, I’ll hopefully have started both Farmer Giles of Ham and A Psalm of Storms and Silence. I’m trying to get through all three of my small Tolkien books before Thursday so I can have a review up for his children’s books, so fingers crossed that actually happens.

what do you think you’ll read next?

I actually put my TBR for this month in order, and I’m hoping to read it in exactly that order because when I’ve done that in the past, it’s really worked to make me read the entire TBR, so up next should be The Hate U Give and Honey Girl. Since I think I’m likely to fly through Storms and Silence (the first one was so damn good), I’ll hopefully be powering through both of those by the end of the week and over the weekend.
