ICYMI, I’ve hopped on the what are you reading WWW Wednesday posts, which are hosted by Taking on a World of Words, and my normal Wednesday posts, usually discussions, are moving to Thursdays. This was another weekend of just a whole lot of nothing. I read the bare minimum, I didn’t do any yoga, and I mostly just recovered from the hectic work of week prior. Things are starting to slow down a bit, though, and I was able to write a bunch of blog posts last night, so I’m hopeful to get back into the swing of things!

I finished Fire with Fire, and it was absolutely amazing. I knew I was going to like it just based on how much I’ve loved Soria’s other books, but I didn’t know it was going to echo Eragon as much as it did, and that love for dragons was so wonderful, and it made me so happy, and now I want to reread Paolini’s quartet, whoops!

I also read the second volume of The Crystal Healer because that’s just who I am, but that should be the last crystal book I’m reviewing for a long while. I don’t think I finished anything else over the weekend? I’m going to make a serious effort this week, though.

I am still not finished with Tolkien and the Great War, but I am halfway through! I just can’t try to read this quickly, or I get bored very fast, and then I don’t want to read anything, so I need to just let this be slow. My review for it isn’t supposed to go up until next week anyway, so I’m fine to take the rest of this week with it.

I am in the middle of Magickal Tarot by Robyn Valentine, too, because I’ve been wanting to read it for a couple weeks, but I wanted to wait until after I’d done my annual tarot readings so I wasn’t being influenced, and I tried reading another witch book before it that I DNF’d. It’s Monday as I’m drafting this (what else is new), so hopefully by Wednesday, I will have started the other two books sitting next to me.

I’m back on my historical fantasy queer slow burn shit, so I’ve got A Marvellous Light next to me, and I want to try to do my best to finish out as much of my TBR as possible, so I’ve also got The Falling in Love Montage. Since I’m trying to be more active in all my extracurriculars this week, here are some goals:

  1. MONDAY
    • Read 100 pages of Magickal Tarot to finish it.
    • Read 50 pages of Tolkien and the Great War.
    • Start The Falling in Love Montage & read 100 pages.
  2. TUESDAY
    • Read 50 pages of Tolkien and the Great War.
    • Read 100 pages of The Falling in Love Montage.
  3. WEDNESDAY
    • Read 50 pages of Tolkien and the Great War to finish it.
    • Read 150 pages of The Falling in Love Montage to finish it.
  4. THURSDAY
    • Start A Marvellous Light & read 150 pages.

I’m not putting Friday on there because we’re lucky if I ever read on Friday. We get lunch as a team at work, and I have pizza night with my parents & movie night with Erin, so it’s usually a pretty jam-packed day. But this’ll put me in a good place with my TBR for this month, and I’ll only have three left, one of which is The Monsters & the Critics, which I definitely want to try to fit in and review before the end of the month, and the other is A Sky Beyond the Storm by Sabaa Tahir, so hopefully I’ll actually start that next week, too. The third one is A Psalm of Storms & Silence, and I’ve already shifted it to my Black History month TBR, so calling it a wash on that one for the month, but I’m pretty pleased with where I’m at!
