ICYMI, I’ve hopped on the what are you reading WWW Wednesday posts, which are hosted by Taking on a World of Words, and my normal Wednesday posts, usually discussions, are moving to Thursdays. Remember when I said come hell or high water, and then I started rewatching the first season of The Witcher instead?
what did you recently finish reading?
Well, last we checked in, I was currently reading Girls of Fate and Fury, so that’s definitely the most recent thing that I finished reading. I meant to make way more headway with Little Thieves over the weekend, but I started rewatching season one of The Witcher because I forgot season two was coming out this past Friday, and I really wanted my dad to get into the show, so that’s what I spent most of my weekend doing. I didn’t even read on Saturday, which was a bummer because I really wanted to, but alas. Life got in the way.
what are you currently reading?
I’m about 200 pages into Little Thieves right now, and it’s fantastic. I know I said come hell or high water, I’d also start All of Us Villains, and I’m hoping to still do that before year’s end, but I’m also trying not to read multiple books at once. I was pretty good at not doing this for the majority of the year, but I’ve started to fall back on it in the last couple of months, and it’s terrible. I don’t like reading two books at once. I always end up reading both of them slower because I can’t focus, and it’s just better if I read one at a time, so while I was hoping to have finished Little Thieves by the end of Sunday, I’m not even close.
what do you think you’ll read next?
Well, it’s Christmas week! And I’m definitely not budging on my plans for Christmas. I wanted to read Chain of Iron over the long Christmas weekend, and that’s definitely what I’m going to do. I always get an absurd amount of reading done over the holiday because I end up doing literally nothing else, and it’s delightful.
I’m also hoping to have finished Little Thieves by end of day Tuesday, maybe? I’ve got about 300 pages left, and I’m working from home right now (in quarantine again!), so I’ve got some free time, so I’m hoping I can knock out 150 each day. If that happens, I’ll probably start All of Us Villains on Wednesday, likely finish it by Friday, and then be cracking open Chain of Iron on Christmas day, which is even more likely given that I didn’t ask for any books this Christmas.
Some lofty goals, and I’ve still got a week left of the year after Christmas is over, so maybe we’ll even fit in another book? Stay tuned!
