WWW: Attainable Goals

ICYMI, I’ve hopped on the what are you reading WWW Wednesday posts, which are hosted by Taking on a World of Words, and my normal Wednesday posts, usually discussions, are moving to Thursdays. Why do I always have such insane goals? Why do I ever think they’re going to turn out well when they literally never do? We need to start setting attainable goals, Mary!

what did you recently finish reading?

Lol @ me thinking I was going to read five books while on vacation, YOU FOOL. I hardly ever read anything when I’m on vacation, to the point where I’ve stopped bringing more than two books because we all know the truth here, and it’s not that I’m going to read. I went away to Maine for the weekend, and though I did finish the Two Towers audiobook on the way up & back, I didn’t even crack open A Spindle Splintered until Tuesday afternoon. Thankfully, I did finish reading that, and I’m hoping to crack into several books over the next couple of days.

what are you currently reading?

Nothing, as of drafting this on Tuesday. I just finished A Spindle Splintered during my lunch, but I’ve got a stack of books next to my bed that I’m going to open up tonight. As before, I’m hoping to start with Sorcery of Thorns, but I’d also like to get to Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare this weekend, which is, coincidentally, not on the stack.

I have a very loose TBR this month because I’m mostly focusing on new releases, but I am going to finish all current Shadowhunters books, damn it, and I’m only two away, and I’ve been wanting to read another one recently anyway, so maybe I’ll start that tonight, too. If not, it’ll just be a whole heck of a lot of Sorcery of Thorns.

what do you think you’ll read next?

For this weekend, I’d definitely like to start Chain of Gold, and I know I was all “attainable goals” at the beginning, but here we are, back on my usual shit. If I can actually get my act together, I’ll start Sorcery of Thorns tonight and have it done by Thursday, and I’ve been eyeballing Kingdom of the Cursed by Kerri Maniscalco, so that’ll hopefully be my Friday read that’ll carry me into the weekend while I’m also starting Chain of Gold. I’ve got to read something else at the same time as Shadowhunters because they’re so damn long, but if we’re actually trying to be attainable, I’ll probably only get to Sorcery, Kingdom, and Chain this week(end).
