Bookshelf Tour: High Fantasy, Part I

Welcome to the bookshelf tour! Previously: Nonfiction | Buddhism & Yoga | Poetry & Adult Fiction | Adult Fiction & Graphic Novels | Horror & Classics | Tolkien | Contemporary Romance | Middle Grade | Middle Grade & Classics | Harry Potter & Shadowhunters | Urban Fantasy Part I, II, III, IV & Classics | Top of Shelves. ICYMI, since I’m not on Booktube, and never will be, I wanted to travel through my shelves on a biweekly adventure on the blog. Since these are going to be pretty long, I won’t ramble on, so let’s get to it! About half of these are read, though probably only a handful are reviewed, so I’ll link to Goodreads if it’s available.

This is my favorite shelf! Well, not this specific shelf, but the entire bookcase of fantasy. You know, it’s always been confusing for me, differentiating between a single shelf and a whole bookshelf. I guess it is bookcase with individual bookshelves? These are the things that keep me up at night. Anyway, we’re onto the last of the shelves, all of which are high fantasy because it felt like the right move to have an entire bookcase devoted to my favorite and most-read genre. There are, however, a couple contemporaries leftover from the previous bookcase because I didn’t want them to be inaccessible on the bottom-most shelf.

And more Funkos! This time, we’ve got Frodo Baggins & Samwise Gamgee from The Lord of the Rings, Jack Skellington, Sally, and Zero from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, Coraline in her yellow rain jacket and in her star sweater, as well as the cat from Coraline, and Aang and Momo, thoug he’s hidden by a sweep of eucalyptus, from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

And without the stuff so you can actually see the books.

I’ve never actually read any Leigh Bardugo! Honestly, I’m not sure whether I ever will? I might be willing to try Ninth House at some point, and I imagine I’ll end up trying Six of Crows again someday, but every time I start it, I can’t get through the first chapter. Maybe she’s just not for me, I don’t know!

I’ve always thought that you’d enjoy the Crows duology, but definitely Ninth House!

Pretty pretty books! I love Funko Pops! But I discovered when I started cleaning my shelves recently that I’m also tired of so much clutter so I’m unhauling some of my Pops to one of my friends who is a big collector of them (omg you should see her collection lol).

I totally understand that! I HATE how much clutter is on my shelves, but my room is practically closet-sized, and so I just keep them there and dream about a day when I own a house and can spread it all out and not feel overwhelmed by the amount of things surrounding me. Ugh, one day!

See my problem is that when I got a house I spread stuff out but then I also got a bunch more stuff haha. I think I need better self-control, that’s the problem. Hopefully Marie Kondo will save me. 😉
