Bookshelf Tour: Top of Shelves

Welcome to the bookshelf tour! Previously: Nonfiction | Buddhism & Yoga | Poetry & Adult Fiction | Adult Fiction & Graphic Novels | Horror & Classics | Tolkien | Contemporary Romance | Middle Grade | Middle Grade & Classics | Harry Potter & Shadowhunters | Urban Fantasy Part I, II, III, IV & Classics. ICYMI, since I’m not on Booktube, and never will be, I wanted to travel through my shelves on a biweekly adventure on the blog. Since these are going to be pretty long, I won’t ramble on, so let’s get to it! About half of these are read, though probably only a handful are reviewed, so I’ll link to Goodreads if it’s available.

We’re taking a brief break in between urban fantasy & high fantasy to delve into the stacks and stacks of books that are on top of my bookshelves These are all books that I’m not likely to reread, and some I haven’t even read, but I’m also probably never going to be ready to purge them, so on top of the bookshelves, they go! We’re doing two full shelves here, too, because I don’t feel like posting another one of these messy top of the shelves ones. Also, I just don’t have a top three out of any of these. All of these were read over a decade ago, and I can remember none of them.

Not much actually on these but books, but I do have an Imagine sign that’s followed me around everywhere, and that’s actually my second Imagine sign, a green prayer shawl, and, sim, that is the Marauders’ Map sadly draped over the top of the stack in the back. Harry’s wand is also in front of the Imagine sign, which I did not realize at first because it blends in so well!

And without the stuff so you can actually see the books.

More Dante Alighieri

The Divine Comedy, Vol. 1: Inferno by Dante Alighieri

The Divine Comedy, Vol. 2: Purgatorio by Dante Alighieri

The Divine Comedy, Vol. 3: Paradiso by Dante Alighieri

NOTE: These are editions from YEAR.

And the second chaotic top of the shelves stacks!

Gosh, the dust alone on top of those Funkos just makes me cringe. Three of the shelves below this one are filled with Funkos, so brace yourself for what’s to come. Here we have Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Deadpool, Spiderman, and Thor (yes that is in order of favorites) from Marvel, Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon, Jon Snow and Ghost from A Song of Ice and Fire, Thorin Oakenshield from The Hobbit, and V from V for Vendetta.

And without the stuff so you can actually see the books.

You have a lot of Dragonlance! I’ll admit I loved the original trilogy back in high school but never got past those. Although, funnily enough, one of my friends that read those with me back then just told me he was reading the twins trilogy and said he was giving them to me because they’re good and I need to read them hah.

I do, and I’ve honestly probably read less than half! I also loved the original trilogy in middle school, I think, and I read a few others in high school, but it kind of fizzled out for me. I recently tried to reread the first one, and it was definitely nowhere near as good as I remembered, so I’ll probably hang onto these forever, but never read them again? And yes, I do remember the twins trilogy being really interesting! Granted, I’m a huge Raistlin fan, so that might be a large part of it, haha.

Yeah, I reread the first book about a year ago and it’s no where near as good from when I read it as a teen. Also, now that I have played DnD, I….am so much more hip to the fact that it’s literally a DnD campaign as a novel LOL. But I will hang onto mine as well because nostalgia! That book has been with me for over 20 years so it’s worth keeping imo. 🙂
